“100. Yılında Kurtuluş Rotası” documentary from Anadolu Agency, special for the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Türkiye.
Anadolu Agency (AA) covered the “Kurtuluş Rotası” from Samsun, where Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk started the National Struggle, to Ankara, with Turkey’s domestic car, Togg, for the special documentary it has signed on the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Türkiye.
The documentary prepared and presented by AA reporter Serkan Kaya includes the 5 chapter with 12 days of shooting in Samsun, Havza, Amasya, Tokat, Erzincan, Erzurum, Sivas, Kayseri, Kırşehir and Ankara.
The team traveled 3,200 kilometers during the 12-day shooting. More than 2 thousand photographs were taken in the project, which covered 15 hours of footage in 9 cities. In the documentary, images of records that shed light on history from the archives of Anadolu Agency and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, General Directorate of Cinema.
In this documentary filming, in which Turkey’s domestic car Togg was used, images were taken from buildings identified with the Turkish War of Independence in each province, and experts on the subject explained details about Mustafa Kemal’s activities in the provinces along the route.
Contents of Chapters
In the first part, where Mustafa Kemal’s works in Samsun and Havza are explained, shootings were made at the Tutun Iskelesi, Bandırma Ship Museum, Gazi Museum, Independence Trail, Havza Atatürk House, Çonoglu Bayram Efendi Mansion.
In the documentary chapter using a similar of the official car used by Atatürk, commissioned by Samsun Metropolitan Municipality, Prof. Dr. Kaya Tuncer Çağlayan, Director of the Atatürk Principles and Revolution History Research and Application Center at Ondokuz Mayıs University, recounted the events of that period.
The second part, in which Prof. Dr. Serap Taşdemir from Amasya University highlights the significance of Amasya in the War of Independence, also delves into Mustafa Kemal Pasha’s activities in Amasya and the events during his journey to Erzurum.
In the third part, filming took place at the Erzurum Art and Sculpture Museum, where the Erzurum Congress was held, and at the Erzurum Atatürk House Museum. Prof. Dr. Murat Küçükuğurlu from Erzurum University’s History Department narrated the role of Erzurum in the War of Independence.
In the fourth episode, which included the interview of Sivas Cumhuriyet University Lecturer Serap Bozbolat Ayan, shootings were made in Sivas Atatürk and Congress Museum, Kayseri Atatürk Museum, Kırşehir’s Mucur district and Beynam Village Atatürk House.
The last part of the documentary was shot in the Fhe First Building of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, which operates as the Museum of the War Of Independence, with interviews of Fatma Hicret Üni, responsible for the War of Independence Museum, and Bahar Çakırhan, Director of the Republic Museum.
